The Technical Sales Manager will combine sales expertise with technical knowledge to promote and secure profitable projects. The successful candidate will leverage existing relationships with contractors, architects, and owners while actively pursuing new business opportunities. This role requires a deep understanding of roofing and waterproofing solutions and a proactive, customer-centric approach to growing and managing accounts from project conception through to final inspection.

Responsibilities

Key Performance Objectives: 

  • Deliver $250,000 in revenue in the first year.
  • Develop a strong distributor and contractor network.
  • Help develop brand recognition of the company in the marketplace
  • Add contracts and build a sales funnel
  • Develop relationships with architects in the marketplace
  •  

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop relationships with key accounts and decision-makers.

• Conduct targeted outreach to drive product awareness, secure meetings, and close sales in new and existing markets.

• Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations to prospective clients.

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close business.

• Build and execute a sales strategy focused on expanding market presence and acquiring new business, working towards mutually agreed sales targets, actively managing and growing your sales territory.

• Maintain a strong sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing deals, while meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets.

• Perform competitor analysis and market research to identify potential clients and business opportunities.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and clients to secure repeat business.

• Oversee and manage projects from initial conception to successful completion.

• When required, perform site inspections, including pre-and post-project assessments, to ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.

• Assist with troubleshooting technical issues on-site and provide effective solutions to meet project milestones.

• Coordinate on-site and off-site product training sessions for contractors, ensuring they understand the proper application techniques and best practices.

• Act as the primary technical resource for contractors, architects, and owners, guiding product selection, installation, and troubleshooting.

• Evaluate the success of completed projects to identify opportunities for repeat business and secure long-term customer relationships.

• Actively monitor and analyze customer feedback to drive improvements in products and services.

• Participate in company meetings, training programs, and sales initiatives to enhance personal development and product knowledge.

Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in project management and overseeing large-scale roofing or waterproofing projects.

• Familiarity with industry-leading roofing and waterproofing products and systems.

• Strong network of contacts within the construction, roofing, or waterproofing industries.


Experience Required: 

• Strong technical knowledge of roofing systems, and waterproofing solutions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with contractors, clients, and internal teams.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of quality.

• Proactive, self-driven, and able to work autonomously while meeting sales targets and deadlines.

• A strong desire to learn and grow in a sales and technical environment.

• Knowledge of construction codes, standards, and safety regulations in the roofing and waterproofing industry.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
